abundance along the backwaters of the Snake River in southeastern
Washington. |

"Ice, No Credit!" I was driving east
through central Arizona when I came across what appeared to be an
abandoned store and gas station. The red letters drew my
attention, and the "no credit" sign above the door
seemed an apt warning for this harsh desert country. |
